Senator Mark Leno is the Chairman of the Committee and he made the suggestion to eliminate and redesign the program. ( An essential program which has been around for 30 years and even saves the state of Calif. millions of dollars, in addition to providing essential care to ! )

Senator Robert Huff is the Republican Vice - Chair of the committee and stated that all Republican members are voting to eliminate the program.
